Screw Gamestop!

Gamestop has alwas been my number 1 choice in buying new video games. But lately Newegg and Amazon have been blowing them out of the water on new game prices. Granted you may need to wait a extra day or two to get your game. But the savings are totally worth it.

Last year Gamestop shut down 8 stores near my house and they still have a crap ton of stores, how ever I am expecting many more store closings. With the economey the way it is and the fact that you can buy the game new at places like Amazon, cheaper then you can buy the game used a Gamestop..

Suckered into a lemon!

I have been buying my games from the same two Gamestops sense the launch of the orignal Xbox. I buy a crap load of Games from Gamestop. So much so that the guys at the store know me by first name and know my phone number by heart. I would have liked to have thought that we were friends!

Snooze you loose, but it wasn't my fault honestly!

My wife knows how much I like Halo well 2 weeks ago she ordered me a Halo 360 250GB slim bundle through a store from her work. As you can iminage I was excited like a kid in a candy store. Well 2 days ago they sent her a email saying that there all sold out. I was like your kidding right, I waited all this time for them to ship it and there sold out? Well needless to say I spent the last 2 days trying to find a 250GB Slim Holiday bundle.

Hell of a GOOD day!

Today my wife told me she wanted to pick up a PS3 so she can play with me. So we ordered her a 160gb PS3 and a copy of COD:BO. I can honestly say I havent been this excited in a long time. I feel like I just won the lotto! My wife use to play on the orignal Xbox with me, I can not even count the hours we spent playing Halo, Ghost Recon and Unreal. And then the worst thing happen my Xbox died and we couldnt afford to buy a new one. So she gave me hers and kind of gave up gaming. She has never really talked about serious gaming sense then until now.

Loosing the social aspect!

Gaming may be becoming more main stream, but its loosing the war with the social aspect. I can remember a time when Live was new and everyone used a headset and hardly anyone didn't use one. PSN was the same way, when it was new there were more people using a headset then not. Now fast forward to today and hardly anyone uses a headset and its rare when some one uses one. I use to be able to join a game and make new friends and those friends turned into more friends which turned into even more friends.

Wish I may wish I might but gaming will never be the same!

Some times I think to my self is being a older gamer a blessing or a curse? I have been gaming hard core sense around 97-98. I was a hard core PC gamer back then, I started on Dial UP, then went to dual channel ISDN, and finally a cable modem. PC's and game consoles have came a long way sense back then.
