I'm going to be a new blog series on music charts. Here's what I did : I took the Billboard Top 100 for each year from 1946 (the first year I think it was recorded) to 2000 (I need to catch up to current times) and assigned a point value to each chart position. #1 is worth 100 points, #100 is worth 1 point. I ran the entire database (4660 songs) through a pivot table and consolidated by Artist Name and chart points. I combed the list for Artist misspellings or variant names, but I may have made a mistake or two as 4,660 songs is a lot of data points.

So first of all, I went for a walk around my neighborhood today, and I discovered some stunningly beautiful houses. Walking with my ipod is one of my favorite pastimes. On one of the houses the guy was out doing yardwork, so I told him how great I thought his house was. He looked pleased that someone appreciated it. I also sawa a dad sitting on his driveway with his son in his lap reading the paper and I thought "How cool is that...".

Hey AT&T CEO Randall, if you actually PROMOTED your $10 DSL deal, people would be interested.  The simple fact of the matter is that downstream broadband speed means almost nothing to the average (read : non-gamer) broadband user which is basically his argument about why people don't want it.  You wonder if enough high ranking executives got in a room, they could come to an agreement that the world is flat.

Job - The job life is really tough these days.  For those of you who don't know, I'm scheduled to be unemployed in the next six months due to an acquisition.  They would probably offer me a job but I would most likely have to move out of state and I'm still in love with Sweet Home Chicago.  The other part is that I'm doing a lot of accounting work and I'm a finance guy.  To most people that's splitting hairs, but trust me accounting and finance can be quite different.

As a parting gift, we gave CMA a 30" High Definition Television!

Hey Chicago, what do you say, the Cubs are going to win today...Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go!

Last night the Cubs took over first place in the NL Central and I hope that it's just the beginning of them running away with the division.  There is something really magical going on at the Friendly Confines this year.  If you've been a Cubs fan ever in your life, then you can see that this team is developing into something really special.
