Season 3 is finally here for the 2old2play Ladders and Leagues, with some tweaks to last seasons rules and gametypes. Previous seasons have seen all types of games within the ladders, but for now Season 3 will only host the crowd favorite Gears of War. The decision was based on the shear volume of members that played GoW and the obvious lack of showings in other games. As always, if you think a certain game would be great for the ladder, please let us know in the ladder forum and we might give it a go.

On the actual game front, Gears of War will host 2 different gametypes. Instead of the normal 4v4 Execution, we have decided to move to a more manageable 3v3 Execution. The lack of a forth player was based upon a large amount of feed back from other teams who felt it was difficult to secure full teams for every match up. This should make it easier to schedule matches with one another and if need be, teams can always agree to host a full 4 v 4 match. We just want to have the option for 3v3.

New to this season will be the addition of the Annex gametype. This will follow in the footsteps of Execution and will only require 3 members to participate in a match. We hope to see a lot more teams within the Annex as the new gameplay requires a different type of skill to win.

Team size has also gone through some changes. Instead of the low team size limit, we have opted to go with a max of 8 players on each team. This was again, a decision to insure that teams could have more then enough players online to play during matches. You do not have to use all 8 slots and we encourage people to people to create as many viable teams as possible to give a broader competition around the site.

So what are you waiting for? Get your teams ready and get into the battle. Just remember. The site is about playing with older gamers and having fun. You win nothing by acting like a timmy. So make sure you respect your fellow gamers!
