Because there's nothing better than a good 'ol fashioned 2o2p clan challenge, we're reporting in on a recent clash between Rampage and Profanity. The battleground: Halo 3 (duh). The result: a series split. Here's the story from our man in the field.
Profanity and Rampage Clans battle to split series 5-5

Xbox LIVE, Microsoft – After weeks of preparation, the date for the Profanity/Rampage Clan Challenge was set. On Thursday, September 10th, 2009, the clans fielded two teams each for head-to-head MLG Halo competition. The victors would earn them bragging rights across all of 2old2play.com and a few teabags, and no doubt the undying adoration of the masses.
Profanity and Rampage A teams were built with top-tier talent in mind: Profanity A Team’s Fire, Caesar, Royal and KillaGorilla against Rampage A Team’s Risen, CBASS, Knifeman and RichardHead.
In Game 1, Lockdown Ball, Profanity A Team’s Fire and Killa Gorilla slayed a combined +34 to allow Caesar 119 on the ball. Royal from Profanity A Team provided support shooting against Rampage A Team’s RichardHead, Risen, Knifeman and CBASS to finish them off – final score 250 to 90.
Game 2 was King of the Hill on Construct. Rampage A Team used solid team shooting to push for a 227-222 win. Risen and Knifeman went a combined +13 slaying while RichardHead captured 94 seconds of hill time. Royal of Profanity managed to go +1 and also manage 113 of hill time.
Narrows Slayer was up next. Rampage A Team beat Profanity 50-48. The key ingredient to Rampage’s success on Narrows was team shooting; they clocked in five more assists (44-39) than Profanity. Both Risen and Knifeman cleaned up for a combined +5 while Caesar, Fire and Royal of Profanity struggled to a combined -12.
With Rampage up in the series 2-1, Pit Slayer was a do-or-die match for Profanity. Profanity, off to a rough start, played the first half of this game down in the count. With 10:30 left on the clock, Profanity clawed to a lead by pushing the fight to Rampage’s side of the map. With great team shooting on both sides, Profanity A Team stayed alive to earn 50-44 victory to even the series at 2-2.
The series came down to the final game, CTF Pit. Profanity A Team got off to a strong start, out-slaying Rampage off initial spawn. Profanity snagged their first flag at 29:00 and capped it 15 seconds later. At 28:00, Rampage A Team pushed and got four down on the Profanity side, and pulled the flag. Unable to suppress Profanity’s snipe spawn, Rampage failed to cap. At 24:14, Caesar got a key flag pull that allowed Profanity to cap and jump to a 2-0 lead. At 21:09, with excellent snipe shooting by Caesar, Profanity gets the final cap to end the game 3-0. It’s worth noting both Risen and RichardHead combined for four flag grabs in a strong effort to keep Rampage on the objective. But in the end, Profanity A Team outslayed Rampage by 24 kills and stopped all flag-grab efforts from the opposition.
Profanity A Team, after five high-intensity games, takes the 3-2 series victory.
Profanity B Team versus the Rampage B Team
B teams on both sides were solid in stats and talent. Profanity B Team’s Dixon, Killthrash, LadiesLuvMe and Sparhawk took on Rampage B Team’s NormalGuy, CMA, Ghost, Boulder and Whoever.
Battle of the B Teams began with Pit Flag. Profanity B Team out slayed Rampage by 20 kills, 138-118, and out-assisted Rampage 100-88. But it it was a flag game, after all, and kills did not equal caps. Profanity B Team failed to complement their slaying with flag pulls, while Rampage B Team did a great job at pulling Profanity’s flag regardless of map control. Rampage pulled 11 pulls versus Profanity’s 6. Normal lead the way, capping two flags. Despite Killthrash’s solid slaying performance (+19) and Ladies’ support shooting (32 assists), Rampage B Team’s flag pulls paid off with a 3-2 victory.
In Game 2, Lockdown Ball, the two teams went nearly even on kills. Rampage did a much better job playing the objective, holding key map locations and gathering solid ball time. AT the 8:05 mark, Rampage lead 86-43, and pushed the lead to 146-72 by the 5:00 mark. With 1:17 left in the game, Profanity rallied to within 30, but it was too little too late. Rampage B Team’s consistent slaying and focus on the objective earned them a second consecutive victory, final score: 186-178. Rampage’s Whoever had a standout performance, going +7 with 19 assists and 65 ball points.
Game 3 had Profanity B going into Narrows Slayer on the cusp of a total beat down. Rampage B Team got off to a quick lead jumping out to 31-23. With 8:33 on the clock, Profanity B Team miraculously fought back for its first lead of the game, 45-44. Tied at 48, Profanity B Team came up with two last minute kills while controlling top mid to steal a win from Rampage, 50-48. Solid BR work by Dixon and Sparhawk going +9 together with 23 headshots, provided the slight edge for the win.
With Rampage B Team still leading the series 2-1, Profanity still had to work to do on Construct KotH. Rampage had been dominating on objective game types in the seriess, and this game, unfortunately for Profanity, was no different. Rampage took an early lead, but with 10:00 left, Profanity slayed its way to a 86-69, lead, but again, had problems getting to the objective. Despite Profanity outslaying Rampage -- Killthrash went +15 and the team controlled the power weapons and OS -- Rampage proved the smarter team and finished off a comfortable 250-229 victory.
Rampage B won the series 3-1, but the last game needed to be played to determine the overall clan challenge victor (Okay, really, they played it just to play it, but this sounds better -- ed.). The final game -- Pit Slayer. On initial spawn, Profanity B Team took control of rockets and jumped to a quick 5-1 lead. With 10:52 to go, Profanity had increased its lead to 30-19, controlling weapons and power ups and suppressing Rampage’s spawn points. Excellent team shooting by Dixon and Ladies lead to 22 assists and pave the way for a Profanity B 50-43 win over Rampage B.

- When did Rampage start? About a year ago
- Who founded Rampage? Risen and I did, but its currently being run by me and NormalGuy
- How many members? Too many to count... We're huge like the Jonas Brothers. Actually not sure... probably about 15-20 who are active.
- What was the inspiration for forming Rampage? We formed the group to be an active comp group on the site... Not saying we are actually active, but that's the idea.
