Yadda, Yadda, Yadda
Yup. Pretty much. Yadda.
We bought our floors this past weekend. Holy christ. $2700.
Living Room - Dupont Real Touch Laminate Flooring. Looks very impressive. Going to be professionally installed.
Family Room - New Carpet. Nice stuff. Professionally installed.
Kitchen - Square linoleum tiles. Installed by me.
Here's the catch though. Even though we are having the floors Pro installed, here's what I have to do to prep them. (Granted, I don't HAVE to do this, but if I want the shit to be good and last, then....)
Living Room - Pull of baseboards. Pull up carpet. Scrub and acid wash any stains left by dog. Install new baseboards and seal.
Family Room - Pull down surround sound speakers. Pull back wires, spackle over holes. Paint Family room and kitchen. Bust up ceramic tile on Fire place. Pull up carpet. Scrub and acid wash any stains left by dog. Lay dow ceramic tile by fireplace and entry way. Lay down new speaker wire for surround sound speakers (under new carpet).
Kitchen - Pull up old linoleum. Acid wash concrete if it isn't "breathing". Paint a coat of linoleum paint/adhesive. Lay down linoleum squares.
Misc. - (not sure it will be done, but most likely) Pull off base boards in kitchen and family room. Replace and seal.
The majority of this has to be done BEFORE they come and install the stuff. Oh boy.
