Whip em Out Wednesday
So I'm listening to O&A on the way to work this morning and they are talking about the new "Rocky" movie. Dear. God. Not another one. I'm seriously tired of all the re-hashing that hollywood does.
Give us something original.
Then, they mention, or all things, "Rambo IV". But get this, that isn't the whole title. It's "Rambo IV: Pearl of the Cobra". Holy shit. You know you've dipped into the well too many times when you have to have a title like that. Pearl of the Cobra? What does that mean?
Synopsis: John Rambo has been living a secluded lifestyle in Bangkok... Bangkok! What the fuck is he doing in Bangkok? Cruising for little girls and boys with John Mark Karr?
But when a group of volunteer aid workers bringing supplies into Burma disappear, a relative of one of the missing missionaries begs Rambo to find them. He heads off with a small team of aspiring heroes to locate and rescue them.
Holy shit. That's who I want leading a rescue mission... an over-the-hill ex Green Beret who hasn't seen combat for over 12 years. Yeah, right... He probably uses that fancy compound bow he used in "Rambo II" and of course he'll have a new signature "Rambo" knife. Good grief.
I really hunger for something new and original. There isn't much out there. That's why I appreciate "Dexter" on Showtime. It's a different premise. Oh well.
