VICTORY IS MINE!
It has been a long road. A journey of self discovery that has forever changed me...
I have officially gone 1 year without playing a single video game, Halo 2 or otherwise. It all started out as a bet my wife thought I would never take, let alone win. But, here I am. What is my reward? A (recenlty reduced in price) XBOX 360 and Halo 3 when it comes out. I cant wait. But, I almost feel like I can wait... it's odd. I havent fed the gaming portion of my brain in so long I feel like it has shriveled up and dried out. I can remember the actual withdrawal I had last year in August and September. Especially after coming off of such a great experince at the 2006 Chicago LAN. I wanted to kill Timmies so bad... I'm afraid to think where all that angst has been barried.
The last year has been filled with plenty of other experiences. I checked in on 2O2P weekly, reading all the great articles and blogs, the site is what has kept me going. Bungie.net has also kept my thirst for all things Halo somewhat tempered. The truth is, I have changed. I dont feel the ridiculous almost clinical need for Halo...
But, with the 2007 Chicago LAN this Friday and the release of what sounds like a truly EPIC Halo 3 I'm sure I will fall right back into my OCD for games. It will be interesting to see how I handle jumping (Back) down the rabbit hole. I'm hoping I have a little better control... I'm hoping I have the space on my credit card too.
