Ug…Everyone is sick

Yup the wife and I are sick. But we are both at work….her, because she can’t afford to fall a day behind. Me, because I never miss an opportunity to make my co-workers sick(it’s the small joys in life that keeps things interesting). No…My job is actually kind-of important too…boring as hell, but important. After all, if I don’t’ read all those contracts, who will?


Well, tomorrow is the sale date for Lego Batman…I may be playing that for a while…we normally get 1000/1000 on the Lego games in about a week’s worth of play. I have a feeling this may take a bit more.


In other news…well, I guess there is no other "news", I’m bored, so bored that I’ve started studying Japanese again….I can get the language but seriously, WHAT IS WITH THE 3 DIFFERENT ALPHABETS!!! And you can’t just learn one because they will mix them together any time they write…I can kind-of understand mixing 2 since Kenji is used for proper names, and some phrases…but why 2 others if they are interchangeable but completely different? But heck, it’s one of the oldest civilizations, who am I to question it…

Actually, you can get by with Hirigana alone, as most written-media in Japan is kind enough to print little Hirigana above the Kanji.\r \r It's rare to find Katakana in everyday writing, unless you plan on getting heavily involved in Japan's government and legal system.\r \r But until you recognize at least 1000 Kanji, reading Japanese in the streets is a bit hit or miss, that's true. It's however perfectly acceptable to write someone a letter using only Hirigana...(If only to subtily hint at the fact that you might know more Kanji than the person you're writing to does...) so don't sweat it.

Do you go around the office and lick everyones coffee cup or spit in their cups to make sure they catch it. Or maybe you could just cough into the air vent...lol I'm bad this morning! lol\r \r Hope you both feel better soon. Seems like everyones getting sick at 2O2P.\r \r \r

WOHOO! thanks Cryptic. that means I can let those thick Kenji books collect dust for the time being. \r Char ---*makes note to cough in air vent*...I'd be scared of what else I'd catch if I licked their coffee cups...I've found that all it takes is being here...what I do circulates through the entire building.\r \r Thanks all for the well wishes.\r I may have another post around lunch asking for help...we're having a debate that is going in circles and need a break in the gridlock.
