Tragic News for Our Family

I regret that I have to report a tragic time for our family. Our granddaughter, Alena Ruth Nightoak took her life last Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, April 2/3. She was almost 16 years old and will be missed immensely by all of us. She lived in Marshall, WI and has been the object of both radio and television stories in the Madison area. Her obituary can be found here. There has been a lot of speculation that bullying was a large factor in her death. Obviously, we are all trying to cope with the shock and pain that this has caused. I have not been able to fully come to terms with her death even now and know that I and my wife will feel the pain for as long as we live.
