Tisk Tisk Tisk Microsuck!
So we go tonight to Gamestop to pick up a second Halo 3 so we can play co-op. Well that’s not going to happen with the Xbox slim. (4gig)
Even though it has a "built in" hard drive the Halo game doesn't recognize it and won’t allow us to play it together... Now it works for some games like Gears, Modern Warfare. Obviously we can split screen it but I am NOT a fan of split screen. Such BS.. so what was the point of making an affordable slim only to have to turn around and purchase the 250 HD to go with it if you want to play all co-op games, co-op.
I knew I should have invested in Sony...

you're having problems loading H3 on your slim? I haven't had any troubles with mine, doing LAN, or online play with any of the Halo games.
Seems odd, Halo 3 has no hard drive requirement and it worked fine on the Arcade units without any storage. You just couldn't save your game unless you had a memory cart or bought a hard drive for it. ALso you couldn't play any DLC since you had no way to store it.\r

Are you sure the problem your having isn't anetwork issue? I've heard from many people who run two systems in their houses both trying to get onto Live at the same time having problems. Your router needs to be able to handle it.\r

Also if you have a spare 8gb flash drive around, the Slim can use that for storage now, that's one of the new features they introduced. Before you could only use flash drives for music and video playback but now you can use them for all content including save games.\r

that's very weird. Sorry you're having problems with it. You think MSFT would make sure their flagship franchise worked without a hitch on all hardware.
As tank said, try a spare USB flash drive. I believe the xbox will recognize up to a 16GB HD.\r
@Tank, no network issue here, use to have 3 xbox's 2 laptops, my cell all running at the same time, never an issue. I pay enough for this connection LOL\r

We tried a number of things.. and again this seems to only be a problem with the 4gb slim. He also had a USB drive in... \r
\r
All I know is when I would invite him to play co-op w/me it kept flashing saying 1 or more players doesnt have a hard drive.. lol \r
\r
A friend of mine also said he's heard complains from other 4gb slim owners with games other than Halo.. who the hello knows. There have been a lot of updates and maybe it now requires a HD vs when it use to not. \r
\r
But the box clearly said BUILT IN 4GB HD... so why is a game claiming their isnt one? Can I sue for false advertising? LOL\r

Obviously it was a small thing Microsoft wanted to sneek in for more money. Or maybe like Venom says, xbox will recognize a 16GB HD or higher..
