The Pledge of Allegiance

Dangit.  At my school every morning, we say the Pledge of Allegiance.  I have Juniors and Seniors in my first period class.  Every day, I have 3 or 4 that start to sit down before the pledge is over.  Well they caught me in the wrong mood today.  I snapped.  They are now in the computer lab writing a 5 page paper on the Pledge of Allegiance.  I am sorry but is it asking too much to stand for the entire 10 seconds it takes to say it?

WHAT? How can you be from Knoxville and not pull for them? How often do they actually have a good season? You have to pull for the underdog. By the way, I grew up in Oak Ridge. Just promise me that you are not a North Carolina fan like everybody else is that doesn't follow basketball.

Nope , I pull for the Miami Hurricanes, in every sport. Win, Lose or Draw.

Even if you don't agree with all the words, such as the 1954 & on additions, you should still stand and give respect when the Pledge of Allegiance is announced.

I don't think it is a matter of agreeing or not agreeing with the words. Most have probably never even thought about the words. They are just too lazy to stand through the whole thing.
