The Old Republic - To Guild or Not to Guild
Here's the thing. I like the idea of a Guild because occasionally I am feeling social and I'd like to have someone I can hit up to do a Heroic quest or a flashpoint with. (Look at me with the geek lingo down and shit!). But I don't want to be that fat chick on The Guild that corrals her dirty, hungry, screaming kids in a filthy kitchen so she can go raiding 7 nights a week. I don't drink Mountain Dew Code Red and I'm usually getting tired around 8:30 pm EST. The longest I've ever sat and played straight through might have been six hours on a midday Saturday while the family was outside or something.
I don't work well on a schedule because I'm lazy and have a problem with authority. I don't work well being told what to do. I don't want to "know my role." I don't CARE if I have some moral obligation to protect your skinny-ass healer because I just happen to be a tank character. I don't really care if you die. I just want to kill shit. If that happens to coincide with you wanting to kill shit, well then hell, let's go kill some shit together. But if I suddenly decide I'm hungry or something more important draws my attention I'm going AFK and chances are, I won't even have the courtesy to warn you. Sorry.
So maybe I don't need a guild. Maybe I just need someone who will follow me around and help me kill shit that's too hard for me to kill on my own. Yeah, I think that's EXACTLY what I need.
If anyone is interested, my character is a Sith Warrior named Bryn'jaree on The Ebon Hawk server.
