The New Server Is Here!!!!

Oh wow. Im so excited and nervous at the same time. We finally went all out on a new Dual Core 3.4 Ghz dedicated server for 2old2play. I was always scared to make such of move for the site since I knew the cost would be something to fear. Well, after so many countless down times and server explosions with the site we just had to go all in.

This new server is basically a power house. We tripled the speed, bandwidth, space, and worst of all the cost. I think a part of me always feared what would happen with such a move, but I think its time to just say fuck it. The community is still here and growing and I hope your donations and love of the site will grow as well. Actually, Im counting on it.

So, as I type the new server is coming out of the box, being racked, and powered on for business. This should allow us for digg hits without a problem (and I mean no problem). Not to mentions WAY more features (video/photos anyone) and a much speedier site. Thanks to everyone that helps this site grow. Its an exciting day for me and Im just so happy to have friends and members like you.

If you see the site go down, you will know why. We need to move everything over to the new box and make sure it all runs correctly. If you have any issue till then, please refrain from sending in bugs. Once the new server is online, I will announce it and will need your help to debug any problems. Once again, thanks to all the members that have donated to make this possible. With out you, the new server would not be possible and the site may have already been taken offline. Thanks.
