I think someone didn't read the entire Book of Leviticus. In the next chapter of Leviticus, it states:


Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. Leviticus 19:28


Thou Shalt Not cherry pick the Bible.

Well, yes and no. It says not to cut or mark (tattoo) yourself in memory of the dead. They are both connected to be in memory of the dead. So it isn't saying no to all tattooing, but saying no to what was the common practice of ancestor worship by cutting and marking yourself in their honor. \r \r Any whoo, applying specific directives to everyone in the world that was given to the nation of Israel is going to fail. Could have gone with not cutting the hair on the sides of your head or trimming your beard verse 27.
