So now it's some blonde punk kid
Some blonde punk kid that doesn't look like the Kaneshiro dude is an Onimusha. The Black Oni. And they changed Samanosuke so that he's this older character who goes by the name of Tenkai. But the game is still good, and it pulls you in, and doesn't have that "you can only move in the direction that your character is facing" control scheme from the previous Onimusha games.
There's an insane amount of weapons, and there are five different characters to play as. I tried to explain what the game was like to a couple of my American buddies, and ended up saying, "it's what Diablo woulda looked like if the Japanese had done it."
The game's title here in the US is Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams. I think it's in the bargain bin already.
On another topic, someone once asked me what car was better, the Subaru Sti or the Mitsubishi Evolution. I can't answer for the person asking, but I can tell which car does it for me. In Japanese anime and manga, the bad guys usually drive the Evo's. The Emperors drive Evo's, have a strong reputation (even though they don't win any challenges), and are mostly punks. The bad guy in Densha Otoko (Japanese live action drama) drove two Evo's. The clincher for me was the price, though. The evo puts out less hp than the Sti, so it costs less. I'd like to thank the hp loving consumers out there for making my car cheaper.
I hope all of you out there get some gaming in this weekend.
