So... are people who try out on American Idol

I hate American Idol...wife loves it. When she's watching it, I'm usually on the computer in the same room. I agree, they don't know when they have zero talent. AND...they must not have any REAL friends, since no one stops them from embarrassing themselves!

Except that Jennifer chick from two seasons back. She came in 3rd or 4th place, now has a Golden Globe, a SAG and is poised to get an Oscar. A couple years ago she was nobody from nowhere. So, people see that a nobody from nowhere made it big so what the heck, go give it a shot. Hell, even that no talent William Hung made a bunch of money off a no talent audition.

I know if one of my friends sung, and he was bad, I would totally say \"Dude! Your singing is the bomb, you need to try out on Idol! You'd totally make it in!\". But, that's just how I role with my friends :)

It's amazing how many people there are out there who have no talent yet think that they're the best at what they do. Take, for instance, the IT person where I work. Does great coding work, he does the underpinnings of the company site quite well, yet his personal aspirations to be a web designer on the side are starting to interfere. Myself and my cubemate went to Iowa State University for 4 years to get a design degree. He has none. Yet he thinks he should be the one to do the design of a major website and what he came up with to try and substitute for what my 'mate designed looks like complete ass. He should stick to doing the grunt work behind the pretty scenes, but keeps trying to break through. Shame!

even tho the first several episodes of AI are the crap singers (mostly) I do know its why many people watch..\r \r kinda sad... but I guess people do know what they are getting into
