Signs of aging...

I have been thinking lately how much my life has changed in the last couple of months.  Is it possible to get old this quick? I am not talking going all gray in the hair....considering I shave my head, thats definately not a issue.  I am talking about how your views and opinions and levels of tolerance have changed over time.  This is a very short list I hope of things I have noticed that have changed in my world-view.

-I no longer am able to tolerate being cold anymore, I actively seek out gloves and a sweater.  I used to cavort around in a T-shirt right up into November but lately, I just don't like being cold.

-My tolerance towards other people's children has vastly improved.  I used get really irritated by kids making noise,  now I just want to smack their parents around.

-I am now able to handle my drink better than I used to, but conversly my desire to inbide in drink has dropped big time.  I have had the same case of beer in my fridge since before Xmas....freaky.

-I no longer mind mowing the lawn, I actually now find it to be a excellent source of exercise.  Conversly, I actually give a damn what my yard looks like, instead of my old motto..."eh..its green enough"

-My number of acquantences has increased, but the number of my close friends has decrease....this I like, these are good people, and it cuts down on the Xmas shopping.

-I now know how to operate a Pellet stove effectively.

-Songs from highschool are now being played on the "Classic Rock" station....damnit.

-Spending Quality time with my loved ones no longer means grabbing a 6pack of mountain dew and playing Halo all night.

-I actively keep track of how much milk is in the fridge at any give time.

I've noticed those type of thing in myself as well. But if you looked at our posts in the forum, you may not be able to tell that we aren't children...lol.

Man you hit the ball out of the park on this one as far as im concerned Baine. I have come to many of the same conclusions about my own aging behavior. I had a very similar experience with beer to yours. This past Thanksgiving I bought a six of Bass Ale , which was my al-time favorite to have at night with a meal. It sat in the fridge till last week when i finally gave it away to my In-laws! LOL The other one i find in your list Im experiencing allot all of a sudden is the fight with being cold. I used to sleep with no shirt on and my wife always complained about me radiating too much heat for her at night. ( well at least when she was trying to sleep :-) ) Now i find myself sleeping in sweatshirts over a T-shirt, sometimes sweat pants and even in some cases socks!!! My wife tries to make me feel better by telling me its because i work late into the night in my studio which is in the lower section of our raised ranch and by the time i come to bed Im cold......bullshit, Im just getting old! LOL Great post dude and its nice to know that Im not alone, i hope that it also gives you some peace to know others of us our going through the same changes :-) - BAT

Baine, this is far more intriguing than your forum posts!\r \r And very true might I add.\r \r I have found that I simply cannot stand wasting my time of people or activities that I do not like. I have a new found respect for the Wiggles and Thomas the Train. I wish I had more time to be with my parents, not less. I also like mowing the lawn, when I used to despise it. And I actually like a good buzz more than getting hammered.
