Side Blocks Being Added Back

OK guys, I just added back the Donation box to the right side of the site as well as the podcast box. As you can see the podcast box has a little play button on it that doesn't work. I will be creating a small flash player for that area so that you can play the latest shows straight from the site without having to download. Till then, all the shows can still be downloaded as normal.

The donation box now shows the name of the donator only if you click the check box before you donate. If you dont want people to know about your donation, simply leave the check box empty.

I was thinking of linking the usernames that donate to their blogs, but Im unsure for now. If you guys want to see this feature, just let me know. Apart of me thinks it is cool for other people to check out the members who donate, but sometimes donations are a bit private.

Anyway, the comments area of the news was giving me a headache so I had to move onto those side blocks. Hopefully I can have the news area all set for this weekend and focus my attention of the enormous task of the forms re-design. Back to work....

Hey Doodi, is the font in the forums going to be fixed when you re-do that area? The font is pretty small. While i konw i can enlarge the font manually in the web browser, 'm sure many don't . Us older guys don't have the eye sight of Timmy's anymore :)\r \r

@TANK\r \r Its odd that you say this because the font is EXACTLY the same size as it was before. The forums are the SAME as they were. They were never changed which is why they look so ugly against the new backdrop. Font, images, colors (with exception to some link colors) have not been touched from the V2 forums.\r \r Im not sure I'll be changing the font although I wont know until I see everything on the new layout. Once I have everything completed I can start looking at how fonts appear and so on. I will say this. Im going for a total redesign so Im sure a lot of the elements will change.

I agree with TANK on the fonts... I find I have to strain to read what I type!\r \r Oh, and what about adding a second sub-checkbox on donations?\r If they check 'show my username'\r under that have a second box to 'also link to my blog'.\r \r That should please everybody! :)

Everything is looking good. I can speak from personal experience that this jazz ain't easy. It takes time, sleepless nights and the right attitude. Kudos.

I don't see the podcast, but it could be my browser.\r \r As for the smaller forum print, the font when we post is smaller. I can send you an example when I get home if you like.

Ah know what it is. The font when posting something, blog comments, forums, blogs is smaller than when you're reading.\r \r That wasn't the case before was it?

Yes, tank, I did notice that as well. It's the form data that is smaller.

I think that linking donations to a person's blog is a good idea, as long as there's a 'keep private' option. In that case, I'm all for it.
