I didn't get my dog cropped when she was a baby and glad I didn't either ... He looks so cute ... Are you going to get the dew claws chopped?

In my opinion, unless you plan on making him a bird dog, (and I doubt it) there isn't really a good reason to chop the dew claws. Just make sure the nail stays trimmed and he won't have any problem getting it caught on anything.\r \r This is just my opinion, but I know cropped ears look cool on a boxer, it just feels wrong to do that to a dog. I mean just look a the picture.....................do you really want to put him through any pain?

The breeder got the tails docked and the dew claws removed all ready. Putting him through all that pain is one of the reasons I don't want to get them done. Like you said, cropped ears do look good on a boxer.

Isn't 5 weeks too young to be separated from the mother?

I had also thought it was supposed to be 8 weeks but all of her puppies are gone as of yesterday. She is the one that has been breeding alot longer then I have been a puppy owner. I would hope she knows what she is doing. He is eating solid food and has been for 2 weeks I think.
