Potential

I think that for sometime now, I've greatly valued potential. You know, so-and-so player that was just drafted into the NFL has great potential. This job opportunity has potential written all over it. Yeah, things are rough, but this relationship has potential.

I think that I've been coming to the realization in my life that potential does, at some point, either pan out or become failure. The idea is to figure that out quickly enough to drop that player from your fantasy team, find a new job, or get rid of the relationship in your life. Basically, move from potential to reality and just live.

Potential can be a fancy word for "living in a dream land".
