Portal2 Stumped.
OK, so we have universal love for Portal 2, but here's the dilemma. While I will admit I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer the problem I had with Portal was not being able to figure out some of the puzzles so the game was essentially over for me. Yes you can peruse the internet and find the solutions, but how many times can you do that before it gets old? Now we have a number of reviews falling over themselves for Portal 2 and I'm certainly interested in fascinating gameplay, I'm apprehensive about purchasing a title I might want to toss out the window at some point.
One quickie: Past rant had me complaining about short SP for the sake of a long MP experience. Why can't developers give us 2 discs. Is it a cost factor?

Nah, many JRPGs require at least 3 DVDroms before the story really kicks in. I don't think it's cost.\r

It's just that many studio's lack the creative talent to really tell a story. All they can do is create amazing visuals and provide as much weaponry as possible.\r

I think that's the real reason why studios like Bethesda can afford to make frowny faces at multiplayer. (Bethesda's stance on multi-player in their titles is quite unique in the industry). They offer depth in story and game in equal measure. That's something everybody wants to experience, so multi-player to validate a meager game isn't necessary.
