Hey KB who said anything about being a pacifist! Im all for kicking some serious terrorist ass!!! In fact I supported our invasion of Afghanistan completely. They harbored OBL and wouldnt give em up! I even agreed with the initial invasion of Iraq, when i thought the lies we were being fed were true. The fact is, its not the pacifist that is the terrorist greatest weapon its the stupid, miss directed, power hungry, corporate controlled chimpanzee in the white house! He has done more to destroy this country all in the name of \"fighting terrorist\" Mean while OBL still threatens us from afar, The Taliban is making a come back in Afghanistan, terrorist attacks have risen around the world 10 fold in the last 3 years, our ports are still unprotected, our nuclear facilities are still unprotected, our constitutional rights are being stripped away, our military is way over stretched and over taxed, and our economy flounders under massive debt caused by the tax cutting and drunken sailor spending of the Republicans. Clearly OBL got the last laugh, he hit us once and sat back and watched as King George did the rest! BAT

As someone who thinks that this president and his administration will go down as the worst in the history of this country, I have to thank Rep. Emanuel for standing up against them. Maybe I would take the Democrats more seriously if they did this more often. Instead they stand in the background holding the door open for this administration to do whatever they want to. I just hope the real Republicans will see that their party has been hijacked by the neo conservitives and religious right and take it back. I can say that, because I was once a \"real\" Republican that wanted lower spending and smaller government. Instead this party now sends up smoke screens on gay marriage and flag burning while it cuts taxes for the wealthy and spends money like it is water. Funny how we were all told to fear the tax and spend democrat when we now have a cut taxes and spend republican in the white house.

I will admit I voted for Bush. But I refuse to support or defend his antics. I gave him a break in the first run because of Sept 11th and other related issues. But nothing since has proven that my vote has added any value. \r \r The question is (regardless of party) can Washington pony up a truly worthy candidate for the next election? I dont care what party they are from. I will just be happy to have someone that knows where they are going and what the heck is going on in the world.

As a neo-conservative and a religious right winger I actually agree with you guys. There is way too much spending in washington and precious little accountability for it. But to act like Bush is the first one (or the worst one) to have this problem is just silly.

Nice Pick up Bat. I agree with most of the stuff said in the comments above, so I wont repeat it :p\r \r However, George H. W. Bush (President 41, not 43) said there is still room for good, honest people in Washington. Im hoping we can get a few more of them here to work on these and other issues.

At work so keep this short, whether its democrat or republican or some other hybrid political group there is too much spending and probably allways will be. It is very easy to stand back and nitpick at the actions of others. I would find it more impressive if Rep. Emanual offered some solutions or even a clear idea or two.

I find it weird to make more money than somebody answering the phone at 1600 Penn.Ave.Thats usually the way it is at big Corps.,too.Trickle-down economics=Its good to let rich people piss on you.Add my name to the list of discouraged/disllusioned former Republicans.And,just because somebody points out a problem but has no immediate solution to said problem doesnt mean the problem doesnt exist or need to be solved.

Nice blog!\r \r I tell pro-Bush people that the feds ought to raise taxes to pay for his wars and programs then see how popular they are. If we had to pay for it now and our taxes jumped to, oh, 75%, Im guessing wed stop being the worlds police and stop wasting money on nonsense.

I have to say I am encouraged by the number of past Republicans who are voicing their un happiness with the current leadership.
