My nephew is a big Jack Daniels drinker.  He recently mentioned he hasn't seen Jack in awhile since his funding is tight.  He wouldn't confess to what he has been drinking, just that whatever it is, it gives him a headache.  Bonus.


 


I know I've been spending a lot more time in that beer store aisle furthest from the cash registers.  You know, the one with the really cheap, crappy beers.  I normally buy Miller Lite and an occasional microbrew for variety.  But now, Natural Light has been looking good at $12.99 per 30 pack.  Natural Ice, same price, higher alcohol content, also has huge appeal.  So far, there seems to be a never ending sale on Busch Light that's prevented me from going Natural.  So far.


 

Anyone else recently lower your standards?  Or perhaps, anyone else start with low standards?

When I was 16 I used to drink alot of Night Train. Could down a bottle in a night easily and finish of the night with some beer. You see beer never got me drunk, I had to mix it, with some Jack or some other shots before I hit a bar to save some money.

Try miller high life light brother relatively inexpensive and pretty darn good.

Funds have been tight for quite a while here, I've switched from Coors Light to Keystone Light. $12.99 vs 19.99 per 30pack.

Night Train, excellent GnR song! I drank a lot of Natty Light in Grad school and other than the grit near the bottom of the can it's not too bad. I unfortunately cannot go too cheap with my beer or else I get a nasty hangover these days. Is Yuenglin too expensive these days? You should be reasonably close to the brewery so it should be cheaper. You can always go for some fine low end local brews like Rolling Rock or Iron City. I'm originally from Butler county and and I knew guys that would only drink Iron Shitty :)

Shinerbock is now a now and then thing, where used to I would have cases of the bottles in the fridge. Good ol Coors light has kept me going.

Polar Ice vodka is really good, and fairly inexpensive. Mix it with Country Time lemonade for a good sour drink that will tear you up.\r \r As far as beer, I don't get Ziengenbach that much anymore (it's a Texas beer; if you're ever in Texas, you have to check it out), but I can't go any cheaper than Bud Light. I've pretty much quit drinking altogether because I can't afford the \"good times.\"\r \r Smokes, on the other hand. I'm smoking Pall Malls. $25 a carton; I can't go any cheaper than that, though, or I won't quit coughing. I don't know about where the rest of you live, but Marlboros are close to $50 a carton.

High Life Lt works in bottles, but is darn harsh in cans. The case I had a few weeks ago ran $15-16 per 30, as does Keystone. Yuengling is plentiful in my area, but has gotten popular (ie out of my price range). I'm about 4 hrs from Butler County, which darn near makes IC an import. At least we can't buy it here in 30 pks. Same with Rolling Rock. I try to steer clear of liquor for \"normal\" drinking events. Last time I went on a Vodka binge, I managed to serve Thanksgiving dinner, eat a little, and then passed out on the couch while my family ate pie. My mom was very proud.
