My son's first game
Last night, I took my son to see his very first professional hockey game at the Bell Center in Montreal. This may not seem like a big deal to many but for any kid growing up in Canada, hockey is BIG. During the pre-game cerimonies as we watched the thousand plus names who proudly wore the Canadiens jersey over the last 100 years, I found myself fondly remembering the first game my dad ever took me to. I looked for the names of the heroes back then..Lafleur, Dryden, Robinson, Shutt, Savard, Lapointe, and others. Never has such a place made the distant past seem so near and never has a place made me feel so close to my son. Here is hoping that in 20 - 30 years, he can experience the same with his child.

Many of my memories of my Dad were my first Indians game, my first Browns game, having Browns season tickets, going to the Browns-Raiders playoff game.\r

You're doing a good thing.
cool. As much as I despise the Habs :) the Bell Centre is a fantastic place for any game - let a lone a romp by the home town team, a shutout for the home town goalie and a first game! Quite a night I'm sure.
nicely put Crimson. i got to ake my daughter to a few baseball games out here. it might be single A but its our hometown. When she is older, I can not wait to take her to see the A's.
Hell, I've been to see a million hockey games, but have never gotten to see the Habs play. That's awesome!!!!!! I took my son to see the Lightning about two ears ago, and he was only so-so on it. Turns out he's a baseball fan. Oh well...............Still have a daughter to take and see if she will like it.
First game!!! that is a big deal. First step to man hood, lol. Can't wait till my boys are ready.
