MIrror's Edge

B
Baine

So once I was finally able to get my gamertag to work on Saturday morning I spent maybe a Hour playing Mirror's Edge.

For what it is, its a pretty interesting game.  Sadly, I am not sure what the hell it is to be honest.

The graphics are pretty stunning.....as far as the surrounding goes.

It just feels a bit...linear, yeah you can jump over this air conditioning vent or that one, or jump over the fence from the top of a building or just climb over it, but you still are getting grom point A to point B in a way that feels very controlled.   You can tell by playing it that they makers really needed you to go in a certain direction and path.

The controlls are fairly easy and it does have the first level as a quick training game that will net you a few AP points on the 360.

This game is seriously a rental.  I can not imagine it having ANY form of replay value at all.....ever.

I can't even comment on the audio because it if there is any form of incidental music playing in it, I don't even recall hearing it.

The story, I am honestly into chapter 2 and I am not sure what the hell is going on.  A politician has been killed and I am not sure if they are blaming my character or my characters sister or both of them....and to be completely honest, I couldn't give to gassy shits about it.

On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it 2 sprained toes out of 5.

For some real-life footage, google Parkour and freerunning.\r \r I agree, the game looks like it has potential.

It's a neat idea for a game but I am not sure who would buy it.\r \r This is a reason rental companies should exist. Otherwise the makers won't make any money. At least they get the money from the rental companies buying their game.
