LCD issues

I purchased an LG 20' LCD monitor for my 360. Every widescreen 70p resolution I tried in resulted in a black bar on the right side of the screen. The only resolution that would work was 1280x1024 which is weird since that is not widecreen. So I returned the monitor. I don't need anything that does 1080i or p. I'm happy with 720p. I heard that people have had good luck with the Dell 20' monitor. I'm just curious as to why none of the resolution settings would fit the monitor? I'm using the VGA connection for the video. I just want something simple and cheap for my office to play my 360 on. Any advice?

I posted this question on the forums a while back but I thought I would try my luck here as well.

There are 2 20' widescreen monitors on the Dell site. Which one works best with the 360? The only difference I can see is that the more expensive one has more video connection options.
