Issue #5 - content requested (topics included)
The writing contest gave me some good pointers to get people interested in picking topics. Although Im sure over half of the writers are highly modivated by the thought of prizes, I know a few of you just want to write (and the prize is a bonus for doing so).
So, Im going to stick with a topic list that you can choose from, like the writing contest. However, unlike the contest the rules are less strict:
- Write on the topics I predefined -or- write your own topic all together. Perhaps the topics Ive included make somthing click and you think "oh! I know what would make a good editorial"
- Length is not limited to 2 pages, all I ask is that you shoot for a specific page length and try to give me a rough guess. You think you can write 5 pages on the topic? Let me know. You think you can write 3 but it turns out to be more like 7 let me know once you realize it.
- Rough Drafts are fine: Ill get the editing team to help out on the finalized document.
So what are the predefined topics?
As with the contest, let me know what you want to write about and Ill fill your name in and others will know its taken.
Ill also be compiling a larger "writers list" from all the e-mails Ive got stashed away so people will get it that way if they miss the blog (and my soon to be offtopic post).
No prizes or pay for this list of editorials, except for the satisfaction of helping the community and promoting the site by the creation of unique and create editorials. For those that dont know, the editorials you write, and get listed on digg.com/slashdot.org, and other areas bring in new users, and more press coverage (if you listened to the live radio podcast that doodi was on you will know people actually DO like our work)
