I'm pretty sure my 3 month old has psychic abilities
Here's a process that has repeated itself over and over again in my house every night this week, sometimes several times in one night:
1. 3 month old baby gets tired. I give him a bottle and rock him for half an hour.
2. He eventually falls asleep. I hold him and continue rocking him until I'm sure he's really, really asleep.
3. Put him down in his crib, his swing, or on my bed. Take care of cooking dinner for me and my other son, do some cleaning, or whatever while I can.
4. Turn on the games I've spent my hard -earned money on (Starcraft 2, Dead Island) or the games I've been waiting a long time for (BF3 Beta).
5. The moment the game loads and I'm in a match, the baby starts screaming bloody murder.
6. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Sounds familiar. I went through the same with my son at that age. I had a PS2 back then, and I was trying to get through the Xenosaga series. Good luck with taking care of the new baby and yourself. Took me a bit to get into the routines and then the sleep came. Games, not until much later.
Yes I think they all are in the younger years, right now my 2yr old seems to sense when I want to got to bed and wakes up whenever the thought occurs.
