 Hi everyone,


 


I know it's been a long time since I wrote something but a lot happened this past 1.5 years.  I left Montreal to go pass 6 months in training for my new career (which I love btw, I never regretted to change from IT programmer to commercial crime investigator) and I ended up posted in Quebec City.  I arrived here (Quebec City) last August and I bought a house plus rent an apartment.  The house was rented so I had to wait until the lease expires to be able to move in and it's finally done.  I spent the last 3 weeks painting, taking off the rug and doing some home improvement and the furniture arrives this weekend.  I was able to plug back my xbox last week and my home theater system is awesome, the projector gives me a 106" screen.


My new GF is amazing too, she's a gamer so the only fight that we have is for the control of the Xbox & Playstation2 (we'll change for a PS3 soon and we'll buy a Wii).  If you see me online playing Final Fantasy XIII, it's her, not me.

Welcome home! Sounds like it was a memorable trip and one that will related for years. Funny how tribulations like getting out a day late and driving to Florida make a trip stand out in your mind for years to come.\r \r Glad you two had a good time.

man Pearly, you both were right in my backyard. Im about 45 minutes (in bad traffic) from Miami. Not like you would have had alot of time for visiting anyway. How'd you like our South Florida Traffic? Pisser huh!! 14 hours is a good run. I can usually make it out of FLA in about 4 hours from where I am. Glad you had fun!!

I'm on my fourth 360. Launch unit, fixed launch unit, refurb, and refurb. All died. Mine died about 5 minutes before finishing Bioshock and a few days before H3 came out. H3 sits in my livign room, taunting me, unplayed. Bioshock sits sad and lonely, unfinished. Pretty much a worst-case scenario. MS will fix my box again, but that's it. They've got me cornholed. They know it, I know it. Why would they ever do any more than fix the piece of crap? I hate the idea of rewarding them for their crappy product by buying another one, but I know it will happen some day.

Are those board games? We've started doing some board game meet-ups as well, the wife is really into it, I don't like card or trivia games though so my experience at each meet-up varies, i like the more strategic style ones like ticket to ride. I picked up the Halo boardgame on clearance at toys r us, it's got 3D map construction pieces so you can setup the game board how you want and each side has 8 pieces i think and there's pickups for weapons and warp points and what not. YOu can play death match, capture the flag or there are three scenario matches which basically boil down to attack and defend. I'm looking forward to playing it next boardgame night.

Yes Tank they are all boardgames. I haven't played the Halo game. It sounds like it might be fun. You'll have to let me know how it goes. You'd be surprised by some card games. There are a few with fairly deep strategy involved. I suggest Dominion and Citadels. If you like Ticket to Ride, you'd probably also like Settlers of Catan (which is available on XBL but much more fun live around a table). Let me know if you download it and want to play, I'll teach you the ropes.
