I got to shoot a 50 cal sniper rifle.
So this last weekend I went to this event called "The Big Bang." Basically it is out at this farm and guys bring their own guns. It is really well organized and it is a safe event, well safe enough. They have rangers inspecting weapons as people enter and exit the range and they are directing people to lanes to shoot. I did skeet shooting for the first time and went 3/4 on my first attempt. That may be a new hobby in the making. I enjoyed the entire day a ton. It is always fun to go out and shoot, but the best part is getting to shoot other guy's guns. It is awesome how generous these guys are because I know ammo isn't cheap now days. There were lots of cool guns there, but my favorite:
AR-15 - This gun has almost no kick and was deadly accurate. Was lighter than I expected and I couldn't help thinking, how many more kills do I needed till I could unlock the red-dot? (Don't worry I was only killing water jugs)
50 Cal Sniper Rifle - I expected this gun to rip my shoulder off, because each time it fires there is a shock wave that you can see. But honestly this gun is so well designed it has less kick than a shotgun. The size of the round makes a .223 look like an airsoft gun. I wasn't too worried about where the bullet was going to land as long as I hit the hill because I knew that if I somehow aimed high this bullet could go for miles and kill someone on the other side of the city. So I just wanted to hang on and get the experience of pulling the trigger. It was awesome. The gun amazed me how easy it was to shoot. If you ever get the chance to shoot one don't let it slip by.
