I did it. I've sold my soul.

 Right now I feel like I am a Judas to my principles.  For a handful of silver, I've betrayed my ideals.

For those that don't know me, I've been a staunch opponent of the prestige system in Call of Duty.  I've always felt that it took me a lot of blood and sweat to earn all my weapons and attachments and other advantages so why throw them away for a shiny new icon?  And then to do it all over again?  10-15 times?  

That's crazy talk.  Prestige is for chumps.

Back in the MW days, my motto was "Stay alive at 55!".  And I've carried that attitude through all the subsequent CODs.  But Modern Warfare 3 has made me betray my ideals without even playing one minute of it!  It has introduced "Prestige tokens", you get one for each prestige and you can use them in the "Prestige Store" to unlock certain items such as additional custom classes (the one advantage that Prestige would give you), or titles, emblems or the ability to unlock a weapon permanently throughout the rest of the Prestiges.   They even gave you a head start in the Prestige store as you get a Prestige token for each game you had previously prestiged in.

When I first read about the Prestige store, I felt it just didn't concern me  because I wasn't going to Prestige.  But supposedly the Prestige store is open right away, no need to Prestige to use a Prestige token.  

Suddenly those additional custom classes looked pretty damn attractive.

So I did it. 

I put in MW2 and hit the prestige button.  And did the same with Black Ops.  I can't find my damn MW disk so I'm going to borrow it from someone so I can get a third token.

So there they go.  My principles are now swirling down the drain.........
