Gas Cap Wrench Thingy

One of my "Scleroderma friends" Cindy and i were talking about road trips. I mentioned that i hate going anywhere alone now, because i can't get the gas cap off my car by myself. (Scleroderma=hand issues) i absolutely HATE being dependant on others to help me do basic things like putting gas in my car. She mentioned this thing she has called a Gas Cap Wrench. We went out to her car so i could see it. The name is pretty self explanatory: it's a plastic thingy you use, like a wrench (kind of), to pry the gas cap off and put it back on. I haven't been able to do this myself for YEARS. i was able to use the wrench no problem on her car and mine! i am buying one ASAP. I know it's a little thing, but being able to put gas in my car by myself will be awesome.


And it's great timing because my Dad called today. There's a family thing next weekend, and he really wants me there. My husband probably won't be able to go, so now i can go alone and not have to ask one of my brothers to ride to the gas station with me before i head home!


You're probably all thinking this is a dumb blog and wondering why i'm so excited about something so trivial. But any little bit of independance i can get back makes me super happy!!View Image

you could get a new Ford. Most new Ford's dont even use gas caps anymore. They are self sealable - why no one has done this before, i'll never know.

that's awesome!!!\r \r it's the little things that can make a huge difference in the way you look at things. \r \r that little piece of plastic now gives you the ability and ease of mind to do so much.\r \r luv it.

Not at all stupid. The GF has carpel-tunnel in both hands and has trouble with the Gas-cap on her Jeep, I know what she is getting for X-Mas now.\r Thanks ZK

Excellent post. \r I'm glad you shared that with all of us. Just goes to show us to appreciate the little things in life all that much more.\r Because of that Gas Cap Wrench Thingy you were able to take back some of your independence.\r Very class act Kitten.
