I've had a Toshiba Satellite A665 laptop since November last year and up until a couple of weeks ago it had functioned perfectly. The USB ports quit working so I sent it to Toshiba's repair center since it was under warranty. I got it back on Wednesday only to discover that while they had returned the USB ports back to spec, the laptop can't run for more than an hour without overheating, locking up, and shutting down. This is not good since I use it to access websites and application at work since my client's firewall and older laptops can't always access or run the things I need to do.


When I called Toshiba back I told them that I was not interested in sending it back to the repair center that botched the repair. I wanted to take it to someone local since I use it for work and don't want to lose it for 2 weeks. Not only did the case manager tell me no, but he also said that it wasn't his problem and the only way to get it fixed under warranty was to send it back. I told "Jesse" that that was poor customer service and that he was impeding my ability to make a living. His response? "I understand your frustrated but it's that or buy a new laptop." When I told him he was un freaking believable, yes I said un freaking believable (if I wouldn't have been at my job site I would have told him how his mother was a $5 dollar hooker and he obviously came out of her a$$.) he then told me to "be professional"...I stopped talking at that point since I was about to have a stroke.


My new goal in life is to now spread the word about Toshiba products to anyone who will listen. Feel free to do the same.

I have a Toshiba Satellite that is almost 4 years old and still works like the day I bought it. My HP laptop however, is less than a year old and yesterday the fan quit working.

I have a year old Dell Inspiron 1764, and if I run video, or higher end apps, it overheats and shuts down.

My gripe isn't with the laptop, until the USB ports quit working it was a great laptop. My gripe is with the company and their lack of customer service. I didn't want anything extravagant, just a fast repair.
