Controversy & Pie

Maybe it’s just been me.  Maybe I just haven't been around here long enough to experience the full range of ebb and flow of exchange that occurs within this community.  Perhaps what I observed was business as usual, perhaps an anomaly.  But it seems like there’s been a lot of bad vibes floating around the last couple of weeks that I have not witnessed in the last five months.  My experiences alone entailed the lock down of two forums in which I was participating, as well as one blog that was physically deleted, user and all, while I was trying to type something entertaining.  As a result, I've resisted plugging my blog with anything, including the banal crap that I type to amuse myself, and possibly, to amuse other.  I’ve even been avoiding bringing up a controversial topic that’s bound to spark more negative waves. But it’s really been weighing me down. I need to get it off my chest. So here it goes.
