I won't say who's in the lead yet, because I don't want to sway any of his votes.  I will say this:

Thank god for a weighted judging system. It was amazing to see some of the different rankings that the team did.  One article may be ranked 24th place by one judge (that's the worst) while another ranked it 6th. A matter of personal opinion and perhaps interest in the topic made them more enthusiastic about it? Dunno, but given the broad range of judges I think we've got a good top #5 coming.

Of course everyone that submitted the articles should get a big applause - it was hard to narrow down a top 5. So many were good, well researched and thoughout. A few might be a bit scattered or need a little cleanup before they're published in the magazine but that's not too bad. I've had bigeks hack apart plenty of my writing and DeadDrPhibes has no problem burning pages upon pages of sheer comma's and mis-use of the third person ;-)
