Super busy again this week. Trying to finish some folder back orders plus getting ready for the ol spring training schedule which starts next week. I realized how lax I've been when I checked my ammo stash.. it's looking pathetically low. So now suddenly it's time to bust a move on the reloading again. I spent 3 nights this week doing case prep instead of playing COD... sorted, tumbled, trimmed and swaged about 3k of .223 brass, and about 2500 9mm brass. And I still have 2 bucketfuls left to process. Hopefully I can get most of em loaded up next week, otherwise I will be fighting a deficit on the live fire schedule all spring which always sucks... Any of you guys reload shotshells? I don't, but I am seriously considering buying a Dillon SL900. I have heard that shotshell reloading is the most complex, but it might be worth it since I have like four 5 gal buckets full of spent 12ga. and 20ga. hulls...

Anyway, it's Friday so here's the chicks with guns!

I wish i knew more about some of the shooting sports you do. I have been trying to find something here but to know success yet. Any advice on websites that would help and info on some of the shooting sports for 223 9mm 40cal .22?

Hey Fly, I will do my next blog on various disciplines and organizations with web links, so stay tuned ;)\r \r Mostly depends on if you want to shoot one of the action-oriented disciplines or something more traditional. I am interested only in IMGA and 3gun now, but in the past I have shot IDPA, IPSC/USPSA, Sporting Clays, and NRA Smallbore silhouette.

As for the shot shell reloading it all depends on the quality of the hulls you have. If there are a high percentage of Win AA or Rem Premiere then it would be worth reloading them. If it's just field loads then not so much. You can get about 6-10 reloads out of a good quality target case, but 2-3 out of a filed load casing. Also with a progressive loader like that it's better if you stick with one load recipe. You can waste a lot of time readjusting everything to run smoothly for a different load. It's been a few years since I shot trap and reloaded a lot, but the basics haven't changed much. Shoot me a PM if you'd like to pick my brain. :)

hey bunsen, thanks! that's the type of advice I was looking for. Most of the hulls I have are Federal and Estate value pack stuff. Mostly #6 and #7.5 field loads, along with some Fiochi #9. But there are a bunch of high-brass Rem and Win slug hulls in there too.. that's what gets me is the slugs, they are pricey. I would need to set up to reload slugs, #9 shot, and #6shot in both 12ga. and 20ga... gah! Maybe it's not worth it afterall ;(\r \r \r kewljoe, does a G19 in an IWB holster during a quickie count? ;)
