Camping Trip

A lady I work withand her husband (just joined the site here and goes by Skydog) have a house on a river and has been on me since about April to bring my boys down and camp for the night.  I use to love camping but lets just say that times have changed.  Her and my wife and my friends wife finally talked us into actually camping.  Last night was the big night.  My two little boys and I and my friend and his little boy went camping.  I had gone and set up the tent on Thursday night.  We loaded up our sleeping bags and goodies and headed for the river.  The boys had a great time.  They had brought their toy guns so they ran around hunting.  We had a fire and made smores.   They even got to get up this morning and pick there own eggs for breakfast.  My friends have a chicken house so the boys got to collect their own eggs.  All in all, it was a great time.  Of course I don't think I slept for more than 15-20 minutes at a time.  My back is killing me and my hip is out of wack.  Did I have a good time?  My boys can't quit talking about how much fun they had so the lack of sleep and the aches and pains are worth it.  My 5 year old just asked me if we could sleep in the tent again tonight.  I didn't have that much fun.

Yeah but the trip was worth the Memories your Children will have. My parents never did nothing like that only but one time. and wouldn't you know the entire weekend it Rained. We had a Pop up Camper so we didn't get wet.

Pop up wouldn't have been near as bad. At least they have beds in them. The ground is way too hard for my old butt.

Lol yeah Tents do suck. What i hate is the Dew that sets in the Roofs of the Tent in the Morning sometimes.\r \r Once you tap it.... Your all Wet and so is your Blankets. \r \r

My son and I went to my parents place out in the sticks and camped out.Had the tent set up at the back end of their yard.Pretty comfortable sleeping on grass.Had a fire pit and watched Friday 13th on the laptop!I slept about 3 hours,woke up sore and roasting in the morning sunlight!Good times,good times!

Awesome man, Sounds great. I can not WAIT until I can do this with my Kiddoes!!!!

Get yourself an air mattress! They are the shit, and not that expensive. The one I got inflates itself when you unroll it. It has a foam rubber core and does quite a nice job. Of course, it doesn't compare to your bed, or the bed in a camper/trailer, but it certainly helps!
