After months of waiting and lots of effort we are expecting a major addition to the family tonight.


Tonight at 7:30pm we are going to be picking up our 7 1/2 wk old Yellow Lab puppy.  We waited to get her because we are using the same breeder that my sister got her Yellow Lab from.    Her dog, Hera, is just a lump of happy.  A lazy dog that just wants to be with you and get pet.  What more could you want in a dog right?  So this puppy is a gift from my parents and sister for us.  Its actually our wedding present.


I am really really looking forward to picking her up tonight.  We were supposed to pick he up on Saturday of this past weekend, but the breeder is a....how do you call it.  Nut job.  She basically was trying to get out of the deal, despite the $500 deposit that she got.  The owner of the stud dog gets to pick a puppy from the litter, well, he wanted the one we had put the deposit down on.  So she tried to get us to switch to a male puppy from ANOTHER breeder.  Sure, we waited 6 mos, and went with this breeder specifically, so in the end we could get a male instead of a female, AND from a whole other breeder.


Needless to say, I was less than receptive to that statement.  So we almost didn't get her.  But it all worked out in the end.


Expect full onslaught of puppy pictures starting soon.  As soon as I figure out how to post pics on my blog.

Congrats, but you're entire post reminded me why I don't want a dog. I can't imagine paying someone 500 bucks as a deposit for the chance to someday in the upcoming year, give her more money for a dog that she may or may not want to sell me. \r \r Having said that, lab's rock. My wife wants a Boston Terrier, but I told her that we have to wait until the coming baby is at least 2, so I've got a few year reprieve on that front.

Be sure nothing chewable is within 8 feet of the floor including walls. You think I'm kidding but if you pick that dog up tonight, you will be posting pictures early tomorrow of destroyed shit.

What a retard... she shouldn't have been taking deposits until after the Stud owner picked his dog.\r \r Typically, stud owners always get first choice if that is the deal established with the bitch owner.
