Bulletstorm... a sigh of relief

I never once would thought that I would be screaming double penetration out loud, or "hey I got one in the hole". Well for the last 4 1/2 hours that's practically all that I have been saying. That and, "wow" followed by "who thinks of this shit"? Bulletstorm is gritty, vulgar, raunchy and not for young ears. It will be lambasted by the HALO lovers and CoD pres tigers as a blight on the FPS genre, but for me personally, it's just what this played out FPS fan needed. Bulletstorm doesn't take it's self seriously. If that's what you're looking for than move along. It knows it's campy and completely off kilt and that's what makes it so fun. For the last 4 1/2 hours I've had more fun in a shooter than I've had in years. The anarchy mode is like firefight, mixed with Horde. You are given a certain number of enemy's you must dispose of and hit a certain score in order to progress to the next round. It's easy at beginning levels, but as you progress the number of enemy's stay the same, this in turn causes you and your team to be a bit more creative in the way you dispose of you're opponent. Weapons can also be upgraded as you progress through the rounds. As of right now this is the only MP mode available to you, but knowing EPIC, I'm sure more are on the way. The single player campaign has all the scoring and silliness of the MP, but you go it alone. I can see why PCF decided not to bring your co-op buddies into it... too many chefs in the kitchen. I will say that Bulletstorm is a title that will have me coming back for a while just to see who's score on my FL I need to beat. For this guy the toilet humor and vulgarity works, but if you don't laugh at dick and fart jokes I'd say keep on looking.  Bulletstorm gives me a murder boner and a solid 9/10

This game is a very well deserved change of pace for the fps genre.

Ya FPSs stopped evolving after Modern Warfare 1, now everyone's just trying to copy COD expecting the same money making results but failing at it and making FPSs extremely boring for gamers. The # of fps's i've been buying year after year is on a decline, hell.... i didn't even buy the latest COD. Bulletstorm is a breath of fresh air, i'm enjoying it a lot so far but i'm still in the honeymoon phase. But so far it's as unique in gameplay as I felt Bioshock 2 was which i also liked a lot last year but most people passed on.
