Bad Economy? How about a Lan Party?
Yeah so I guess Im changing my "OMG WE ARE ALL FUCKED" attitude about the LAN this year and finally getting more siked about the whole event. Sure there is the lurking 5k in extra rooms that I may need to cover, but just look at the attendance. It went from a dead stop at 60 people to almost 80 in 2 weeks! Bad Economy? I guess not as much as I thought.
Plus for some reason whenever the LAN gets to be about 2-3 weeks away I just seem to say fuck it. Fuck it to the money I owe, fuck it to the networking issues, fuck the hotel, fuck setting up, and fuck stressing about it. Instead I'm just siked to see a ton of my friends, kick back, drink some beers, and if all else fails play some games. So yeah, things looked shitty for a while there, but I realized one thing. No matter what the economic climate is, you can't stop friends from wanting to hang out, and you can't stop the Chicago LAN. Peace
