Allergies
Weather in NY has been great for about 10 days. No rain, warm...dry.
So the pollen and shit is out of CONTROL.
Today, I have allergies. Sore throat, stuffy head..blah blah.
The good news, the PA where I work had some allergy medicine which she gave me...YAY.
The bad news, she tells me as I swallow the pills, she hopes its the non-drowsy forumla...
Oh well...should be good either way.

thumbs down and you know why motherfucker
My usual stepwise regimen for patients:\r
\r
1.) OTC allergy medication - claritin or zyrtec, increasing to claritin-D; there are others that are prescription-only - allegra, xyzal.\r
\r
2.) Nasal steroids, prescription-only - flonase (now generic), nasonex, nasacort, et al.\r
\r
3.) Leukotriene inhibitor - Singulair (Rx only)\r
\r
4.) Allergy testing with the consideration of allergy shots.
I went to my doctor about a very nasty allergy related cough and she suggested a Neti pot. It's a nasel irrigator. Basically this is a small tea-kettle where you fill with lukewarm water, put the spout in one nostril, turn your head, raise the end of the pot and the water goes in the nostril, thru your sinuses and out the other nostril. \r
I've noticed a HUGE change in my allergies since I started using this twice a day. Any drug store should have it.....
