Current Gen Games - No Really

So I finally got back on my 360 for the first time in ages for something besides streaming video from my computer tonight. I checked out the XBA release "I Made a Game with Zombies" and the Brutal Legend Demo. Really liked both games and am looking forward to playing the full BL game. Now the question is, do I go ahead and buy BL now, or finish the 7 or 8 games that are sitting on my shelf first? My guess is that I need to wrap up some previous purchases first before the holiday season and CODMW2 and LFD2 suck up all of my time. Currently I have the following games sitting unfinished or worse, upopend, on my shelf:

  • Oblivion (may NEVER finish this one)
  • Prince of Persia
  • Condemned 2
  • Ninja Gaiden 2
  • Orange Box & Portal (I know, welcome to 2006 eh?)
  • Afro Samurai
  • Gears - Dark Corners (can't get motivated for this one)
  • Fable II
  • The Darkness (never opened this one)
  • COD4 (never opened - GASP!)
  • Fallout 3 (opened, but never played)
  • Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (never finished SP)

So perhaps I really do need to work on my backlog of games first. What do you folks thinK?

Special Appearance by - Waterborn

So I recieved a DM via Twitter today from Mr. Derek "DSmooth" Nolan asking if I was up to anything tonight and if not, if I would fill in for CodeMonkey as the co-host for the podcast tonight. At first I was rather honored, as I knew that Mr. "I Piss Excellence" had been courting Joss Whedon and Major Nelson for 2old2type Episode 100. Not bad company. However, I was soon to find out that I was to co-host the interim Episode "99.5". So much for being held in great esteem. Seriously though, I had a blast shooting the shit with DSmooth and recording the next episode (or half episode I guess) with him. So check it out this Friday and let me know what you think of my 2old2type debut.

Now back to Robotron . . . . . .

Well I know what 2o2type podcast I can skip listening to now :P\r \r If you wanna go coop to finish R6V2, hit me up, been a while since I played that game.\r \r And you REALLY, REALLY MUST MUST MUST play and finish Portal if you have not done so. Seriously, do it. It's short, and so worth it!

Hehe, I get it. Get off my ass and back onto a \"real\" gaming system. I'm working on it folks. Jedi, I will hit you up for the RB6V2 thing soon.

I was in the same boat recently - with a ton of games I'd picked up from Blockbuster B1G1 deals - and I went with the \"play through the backlog.\" The advantage to that, particularly as referenced above, was that I could capitalize on a good trade in deal that Gamestop was running, so I essentially got paid to beat all the games and/or did not have to pay a dime for my upcoming timesuckers - Borderlands and Modern Warfare 2.\r \r First things first - you should beat COD4 single player and trade it in while it still has value over $15. Once MW2 hits, there goes the price.\r \r I'm playing through Fallout 3 for the second time now, it's a sinkhole of time and entertaining at that. Condemned and the Darkness are both worth a run and about 10-15 hours of play each. Fable II isn't bad and probably has a good 30-40 hours or so, I'd guess. Orange Box and Portal are outstanding. Hoowee. You're bringing back memories.
