#5 delayed release; Start thinking about issue #6

Readers,

The magazine designers are very busy with real life this month, as am I.  So I'm going to plan for a release around August 8th to add a little time (and less stress) to a team working for free. Hopefully this will be a concrete date, but if we run into trouble I will push it back a bit more. In parallel, I'll be working the content ideas and asking for requests for issue #6.

Issue #6
My wife had a good idea for a magazine theme, but I'm going to need help if we are to pull it off.  It requires some research on the part of the writer's (I'll be sending out a request on my writers list later). The theme involves spotlights on game developer icons.  Not game companies, developers

Some ideas on people to write articles about:
Cliff Bleszinski (CliffyB) [lead designer for Gears of War, a hand in Unreal, etc.]
Shigeru Miyamoto [ Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, you name it ]
John Carmack [ Wolfenstein 3d, DOOM, Quake ]
Richard Garriot [ Ultima Series ] aka "Lord British"
Stieg Hedlund [ Diablo II, StarCraft ]
Sid Meier [ Civilization ]
Peter Molyneux [ Populous, Black & White ]
Don Daglow [ Dungeon, Gateway to the Savage Frontier(SSI), Neverwinter Nights ]
Alexey Pazhitnov [ Tetris, Hexic HD ]
Chris Sawyer [ Transport Tycoon, RollerCoaster Tycoon ]
John Romero [ Wolfenstein 3d, DOOM, Quake, Half-Life, Deus Ex, Red Faction ]
Will Wright [ SimCity, The Sims ]
Hironobu Sakaguchi [ Final Fantasy series, Chrono Trigger ]

A good list on wiki here.

There are many many more, if you know of one that isn't on the wikiepedia list, or in my list (which is a subset of wikie) and you want to write about them, let me know and we can set it up.

What would I like to see for an article? A history of the designer, where they grew up, did they go to college, when did they get into gaming, what were some of their first game designs, why would you consider them a pioneer or revolutionary game designer, spotlight a few of the games they did and what made them great, stuff along those lines.

I would love to see something for the designers that goes around two or three pages (more if you need it).  The idea would be to have roughly four or more of these for issue #6 so that we can call it "the theme" of the issue.

Sound like a good issue theme?

It's a great idea, and yes it would require lot's of research... and time... But we can do it.
