360 Finally called it quits

With all the hardware issues that the Xbox 360 had it was no surprise when I powered my 2 year old console on this morning to emtpiness. The video card just decided to stop working, no output in HD and nothing but white lines and dots in standard def.

Sad, but true. I went and bought the 360 Arcade Bundle for 279.99 which was enough to replace the core box with a brand new one, and, surprise this one worked right when I powered it on. Odd, the CDROM is now white instead of that silver color that the classic one had.

It was bound to happen with something like 40%+ failure rate, but I thought I'd get the red rings...apparently I get the only problem that isn't under warranty. Go figure.

Mine bit it with the 1 red light of death, also not covered under warranty.

So what are you going to do with it?\r

right now, I'm thinking of tossing it on eBay for spare parts, or something. I dunno. It's currently just a carcass sitting on my shelf.

I hope you at least picked up a Falcon Core.

i am tempted to make you a deal on the ring of light board. I think I could resurrect my original box. It died before the warranty was extended so I took it apart. I lost the ROL board :(

I don't know what a ring of light board is...the one on the front panel?

I know I'm a little late commenting.\r \r If you haven't voided the original warranty you can get the old box replaced for $99.\r \r Full warranty for one year.\r \r MS gave me a brand new one. It was not under warranty but I had also not opened the box or modded it.
