Early this morning the Super Smash Bros. Brawl team revealed the online portion of their game. As you may have guessed, Friend Codes are here, and they’re here to stay.
There are two online options; play “With Friends” or play”With Anyone”. The latter may contain child predators, while the former (hopefully) doesn’t. So, be careful.
Unfortunately, there’s no word on voice chat. The only type of communication available seems to be short messages that will be mapped to the d-pad. That’s only if you’re playing with friends.
If you choose to play with anyone, you can’t send nor receive these short messages. Also, if you decide to venture out and play with ‘Anyone” there will be no communication at all. The Battle Records won’t be saved, they can’t see your name, or any of your information. This is, of course, to prevent online predators from contacting your kids during a game of Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
They are also planning other services to go along with this reveal. Expect those to be detailed later, alongside other modes, characters and features.
