New Releases: Week of November 27, 2016

Thanksgiving and Black Friday have come and gone so the holiday frenzy is in full swing here in the US. One of the most anticipated games of the year, Final Fantasy XV finally hits shelves and downloads near you. Although I am personally most excited about a game involving sentient corn!

Bladeshield

Release Date: November 28, 2016

Platforms: PC-HTC Vive

When I was Googling to learn about this game, the first video that came up some sort of as seen on TV-esque wiper blade accessory commercial. It kinda made my head explode so I figured I’d share with 2old2play.

The actual BladeShield video game is a virtual reality game where you not surprisingly wield a blade and a shield to defend yourself against turrets and bots.

Final Fantasy XV

Release Date: November 29, 2016

Platforms: PS4, XBOne

This Final Fantasy game was 10 years in the making and spawned the anime series and feature film to fit in all the content without having to make multiple games. The trailer does look pretty impressive.

Umm this game has sentient corn and a sarcastic bootleg Russian robot teddy bear. #shutupandtakemymoney

Rad Rogers: World One

Release Date: December 1, 2016

Platforms: PC

I had no idea 3DRealms still existed. I thought they died with the whole Take-Two/Gearbox Duke Nukem stuff but apparently they are alive and well. This 90s style 2-D platformer with an attitude looks pretty decent from the trailer.

The Dwarves

Release Date: December 1, 2016

This tactical fantasy RPG is based on a novel of the same name. It’s got lots of action as well as some puzzles and strong story.

Little Briar Rose

Release Date: December 2, 2016

Platforms: PC, Mobile

This is a stained glass stylized point-and-click adventure based on the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale.  The hand drawn graphics look pretty sweet for mobile.

Steep

Steep is an extreme sports online open world game. It has four different play styles: Explorer, Freestyler, Bone Collector, and Freerider.

Super Mario Maker

Release Date: December 2, 2016

Platforms: 3DS

Popular on the WiiU, Super Mario Maker is making its way to handhelds this week.  The focus here is more on local multiplayer with streetpass support.
