New Releases: Week of January 30th, 2022
I am trying to think of something to say to entice you to read this week's New Releases. I am coming up empty I have to admit. I was thinking quick recap are the crazy shit that went down in January but I am pretty sure we are ALL aware of that. Oh I know...to RTX3050 or not to RTX3050...that is the question...I had a acouple days ago. I am still happy with my 1050Ti but I have this fancy 27" curved 120hz monitor and can't really get the most out of it. I swear I bought that card for around $200 Cdn back in the day so when nVidia announced a $250USD / $320CDN RTX 3050 I was pumped! Earlier this week I started reading some reviews and I became a little less pumped but still $320 is nearly half the price of a 3060 so I was still considering it.
The 3050's launched on Friday morning. "Today is going to be a good day." I told myself. I 'found' some on Newegg for $330 but you couldn't order them. The local PC store here had them on a little later but for $520!?!??! WTF!?!? A 3060 with 12gb of ram they sell for $599. For the $80 difference who the hell would buy a 3050!?!? Ok maybe there are people out there and fair enough if that $80 puts it out of reach for you but $200 OVER MSRP!?!?. I used to trust those guys, resellers/scalpers I know have been jacking up the price but this was a chain I have trusted for nearly 25 years. Buy local I tell myself when I go there and pay a little bit more but $200...I kinda want to tell them to go F*$@ themselves. It is kinda where I am at these days.
Thank god I have video games to distract me from the shit going on around the world so lets see if any new distractions can be fed your and my way this week!.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human

I was chatting with one the guys at work and he is super excited for this game. He loved the story of the original and the jumping/parkour aspects of the game and is looking forward to more. He was trying to hype it up for me but I had to let him down as jumping puzzles are not my thing. Those ones in DOOM Eternal (Seriously id...WTF!??!?!) just about killed the game for me. I had to push myself through them. However, I know there are a certain set of people (like my coworker) that love that kind of stuff so....have fun!
