Grand Theft Auto IV: 16 Player Multiplayer?

Xboxic is reporting a tantalizing rumor that Grand Theft Auto IV will not only have multiplayer, but it’ll support 16 players online.

While showing off their controversial hit Manhunt 2 at the recent Playstation Holiday Preview Event, Rockstar was naturally asked a few questions about their big boy, aka GTA IV. What the press managed to get hold of was that the developer is targeting to include multiplayer with up to 16 players. Unfortunately, there was no mention of co-op play. Also worth pointing out is that GTA IV may be the first game in the series to allow players to fully explore the world right off the bat. Previous titles in the franchise required players to play through a series of story missions before letting them roam certain sections of the game world.
