Well, I'm not in Alaska any more.  Finally got out of there at the end of August.  I din't even have to change jobs, I was able to find someone that actually wanted to go to where I was, and I where he was.  I have reliable internet that enables me to once again play online with barely any noticeable lag time.  My family is once again happy, and I actually enjoy going to work again.

As much as I would like to change my gamertag, I really don't think I can.  Yeah, when I play with the random people, I get the "So, uh, you have internet in your igloo", or "Isn't Sarah Palin hot?", "So, what do you think of Sarah Palin?" and so on, and it is really freaking annoying, but I've been AlaskaDad for six years, and even if I change, as has been suggested by many, I'm still going to be called Alaska by most, and AlaskaDick by R3d Scare.  I'm glad to see that this place is still going strong, I haven't been on here in a long time, mostly because my internet up in the middle of nowhere was so shitty, I coun't even post consistently without either timing out or losing connection completely.  Kids are growing fast they're now 10, 7, and 4, soon to be 11, 8, and 5.  They love it down here too.  They can actually attend school again, and even play organized sports.

It's honestly been quite a while since I've been able to say that it's all good, and if it wasn't for the possibility of a "Government Shutdown", I'd say that all was well.

I'm glad you posted this. So many Americans, such as the Tea Party people, seem to believe the country is on the cusp of socialism. It's simply not true. Our present political climate is so far right you can barely see socialism from where we are.\r \r The differences between Obama, Clinton, Bush, and McCain from an ideological standpoint are MUCH smaller than those of any of these individuals and the rest of the civilized world.

Ummmmm... I'm one of those Tea Party people. If I wanted to live in a Euro-Socialist Nation, I'd move to Europe. I believe in the original intent of our Founding Documents. I also do not believe that people who aren't American citizens are entitled to Constitutional rights and protections.
