Here are a few stats that will make you want to cry.  For the 2008 work year, here are the amount of days it will take the average person to pay off the yearly taxes.

42 days - Federal and State taxes
28 days - Payroll taxes
16 days - Sales/excise taxes(State and local)
13 days - Corporate income taxes
12 days - Property taxes(if applicable)

111/365 days spent working for the government.

That's right, about 33% of a persons annual income goes to the government. And they say we aren't headed to socialism/communism.....\r \r MJ

Damn it, we need blog edit buttons........it takes me almost 20 days to pay my property taxes. I think that their numbers are a bit off on that one.

Those are averages, areas are plus and minus for that. \r \r I wonder when Americans are going to get fed up with paying so much in taxes? If Obama gets in, we'll pay even more.

It's never going to change. Americans are either too comfortable in life and don't wanna make waves, or are to scared of being ostrisized in their own communities to speak out against the government. Something has to give someday, it will take someone with big enough balls to say \"Enough is enough!\" Until then, we are just gonna stay the course, and it will get worse.
